Crafting is a very usefull skill. You can make Pots, Ranged Armour, Magic Staffs, Ring, Amulets, Bowstrings and a lot more! There are a lot of items in crafting. You can buy them at crafting shops all over runescape located in: Al-Kharid, Rimmington and Marim on Ape Atol (members only).

Pottery
With pottery you can make pots, bowls and dishes. Before you can start pottery you’ll need clay, bucket of water and must be near a pottery wheel and pottery oven. Great locations are: Barbarian Village, Crafting Guild, Ardougne (members only) and Rellekka (members only).
Once you got all items and are on a good location start crafting the pots, bowls or dishes.
-Start with using the water on the clay to make soft clay.
-Use the soft clay on the Pottery Wheel.
-Finish with using the unfired object on the Pottery Oven. If you have low crafting lvl it could crack.

Leather and Dragonhide
Leather and Dragonhide armour is used for ranging armour. There are four types of leather: soft leather, hard leather, dragonhide and snakeskin.

Before you can use your hides for crafting leather items they need to be tanned. You can tan your hides at Al Kharid, the Crafting Guild and Canifis.

Making soft leather items is one of the basic types of crafting. This is great way to start crafting. To get soft leather you need to tan cowhides.

Hard Leather is a more advance type of crafting than soft leather. Hard leather armour can be used as a fair ranging armour if you can’t afford better.

Snakeskin Armour (members only)
Snakeskin Armour is a special ranging armour that requires 30 ranging to wear. Snakeskin is required to craft this armour you can obtain snakeskin by killing bush snakes in Tai Bwo Wannai cleanup mini game (Jungle Potion must be completed) or by cutting it from a Giant Snake in Temple Trekking mini game.

At level 32 crafting you can use kebbit claws on your vambraces to give them an extra 2+ strength bonus.
Spinning
There are a lot of spinning wheels in runescape. The most popular locations are: Falador, Seers Village (p2p), Tree Gnome Village (p2p) and Crafting Guild.

Bowstrings can be made very fast. But you need to know how to do it.


1-Start at the flax field south-east from Seers Bank. Pick a full inventory of flax.

2-Go to the spinning wheel north-west from the flax field. Go up in the house and spin your flax to bowstrings.

3-Go to Seers Bank and bank your bowstrings. Go back to the flax field to repeat the process.
Weaving (members only)

Weaving helps you store your farming products. With the use of a sack you can carry a lot more crops than normally. There are only two loom locations; Falador and Elf Camp.

Jewellery
With Jewellery you can make rings, amulets and necklaces.
Before you can craft gold jewellery you need to have gold bars made in mining. Use a gold bar on a furnace and choose the one you want to make. You need to have the appropriate mould. If you want to make Gem Encrusted Jewellery you need to have a cut gem in your inventory.
Gems make the Jewellery a lot better and worth more (gems can also be used to make bolts better). Use a chisel on a gem to cut it.

Members can make enchanted rings and wear them for interesting bonuses. Rings don’t have any purpose in free to play. You need to have a ring mould to make rings.

With silver you can craft tiaras, symbols, sickles and lightning conductor. It requires a mould to craft silver jewellery.
Follow these steps to make silver jewellery (note you need to have a mould in your inventory):
-Use a silver bar on a furnace (good furnace locations).
-Then select the silver item you want to make in the menu.

You can string symbols by using a ball of wool on the unstrung version of the object. You can make a ball of wool by using a pair of shears on a sheep to get wool. Then you need to string wool to get a ball of wool.
Sheep are located at the make over mage and the farms at Lumbridge (farm and chicken farm).
Elemental Battlestaves (members only)
The making of Elemental Battlestaves is a very complex way of crafting. It requires high level crafting and magic.
To start you need an unpowered orb which can be made from molten glass see the glassmaking part for more info.
Now you need to power the orb. You need to go to that location and cast the ‘charge’ spell. This can be done in the following locations:

Note: Making battlestaves requires a charge orb spell that can only be used at normal magic mode.
To finish you need to use the charged orb on a basic battlestaff. A basic battlestaff can be be bought from Zaff’s Staffs in Varrock, Baba Yaga on Lunar Isle or the Magic Guild in Yanille.

If you have completed the Scorpion Catcher quest Thormac the Sorcerer can upgrade your elemental battlestaffs to mystic staves for 40,000 coins.
Glassmaking (members only)

With glassmaking you can make glass orbs, laterns, vials and beer glasses. For glassmaking you need a glassblowing pipe, seaweeds and empty buckets.
You can make glass objects with the following process:
-Go to Entrana. (don’t take armour)
-Fill your buckets with sand at a sand pit by using the bucket on it. (Sand pits can be found on Entrana directly west of the boat)
-Use seaweed on range to get soda ash.
-Have both soda ash and bucket of sand in your inventory and use soda ash on a furnace to make molten glass.
-Use glassblowing pipe on molten glass to make any glass items:

Cape Dyeing
It’s possible to change the color of your normal cape by dyeing it. Witch Aggie sells dyes. Aggie lives in an house in draynor. Purple dye respawns south-west of East Ardougne outside the wall. You can buy pink dye from Betty in Port Sarim for 20gp each after you’ve completed the quest Hand in the Sand.

The following dyes can be bought from Aggie (for every dye you buy you need to pay 5 gp extra).

Snail Helmets (members only)
Once you’ve completed the Priest in Peril quest and have 15 crafting then you can make snail helmets.
You can obtain Myre Shells in the Mort Myre swamp by killing the Blamish Snails. Take a Chisel and use it on the Myre Shell to make a Snail shell. You’ll get 32.5 crafting exp by doing this.
