Smithing is a skill to make armours and weapons, if you are a high level smither you can earn much money with it.

1. Smelting ores to bars.
If you want to smelt ores to bars you will need first some ores. If you got ores then you must go to a furnace, use the ore on the furnace and then it will be smelted into a bar. Under here you can see which ores you need to make bars and which level you need to make it. But if you use a Dwarven Stout u can make it on 1 level lower.
lvl 1:Bronze bar-1 copper ore and 1 tin ore
lvl 15:Iron bar- 1 iron ore (50% chance of success)
lvl 20:Silver bar- 1 silver ore
lvl 30:Steel bar- 1 iron ore and 2 coal
lvl 40:Gold bar- 1 gold ore
lvl 50:Mithril bar- 1 mithril ore and 4 coal
lvl 70:Admantite bar- 1 admantite ore and 6 coal
lvl 85:Runite bar- 1 runite ore and 8 coalBack to top
2. Smelting bars to armours and weapons.
If you want to smith your bars to armour and weapons you will first need a hammer (u can buy a hammer in a general store) then you must go whit your bars and hammer to an anvil and then use the bar on the anvil. There will come a screen like under here
The things that are green are the things u can make, the things that are red are things u cant make because u don't got enough bars whit you, or u haven't got a high enough smithing lvl.

3. The best places for Smithing.
There are much places to smith, but there are a few spots better then the rest. These spots are shown under here:
Best furnace spots:
Spot 1:
This spot is in the centre of Falador near the general store. This is a good spot because it's very close to a bank.
Spot 2:
This spot is in the centre of the Al Kharid village, it's probably the closest spot to a bank for f2p, so you just have to walk to the Al Kharid bank and you'll see the furnace.
Spot 3 (members only):
This spot is very close to the bank in Port Phasmatys, it's the closest spot to a bank (members only).
Best anvil spot:
Spot 1:
This spot is near Varrock west bank. This really is the best anvil spot in whole runescape, you only have to walk to Varrock west bank and you'll see the anvil.

4. Smithing extra's:
Dwarven stout:A dwarven stout is a beer which gives you +1 mining and +1 smithing level for a short time. This can be very useful for making an item you normally cant make because your smithing level is 1 level to low.
A dwarven stout can be bought for 3 coins from kaylee who works in the bar in the centre of Falador, near Falador west bank and Falador general store.
Ring of forgingThe ring of forging gives when weared the abilety to smelt iron ores without failing. It will break at 140 iron ores.
