Before you start the quest you should go to Mort'ton, it's located south of Canafis. Go to the house to the southwest and search the shelf. You'll find a diary, read it. Now search the table, you'll find two tarromins and rogue's purse.

Now cut a tree and take the ashes when the fire goes out, use tarromin on the vial of water and add the ashes after that. You made Serum 207 (3).

Go to Razmire in the general store to the north, use the Serum 207 on him. Aks him about the shadow creatures, he'll ask you to kill 5.

Kill 5 loar shades and collect their remains. Go back to Razmire, use the serum on him. Talk to him, he'll take two remains and tell you to go to Ulsquire.

Use the Serum 207 on Ulsquire (in the house to the east) and talk to him. He'll also take a shade remain and will study it. Talk to him again and ask what he found out. Now you'll need pyre logs to burn the remains.

Go back to Razmire, use another dose of Serum 207 on him and buy olive oil from his general store and buy 5 limestone, 5 limestone bricks, 5 planks and 15 swamp paste from his building store.
Go to the north east to the temple, switch to the Shades of Mort'ton themed world (world 77). Repair/reinforce until you have sanctity 10%, then use your olive oil on the flaming fire altar (light it if required).

Cut some logs and use the sacred oil with it to create pyre logs. Go to one of the funeral pyre spots in the village, use your a pyre logs and a loar remain with it and light it. You can pick up the key if you wish.

Go back to Ulsquire, use the Serum 207 on him and talk to him to complete the quest.

To make a permanent cure, get your sanctity up to 20% and use Serum 207 on the flaming fire altar.
