Start: Just head over to Sinclair Mansion, North of Seers Village and then talk to the guard. He will tell you that Lord Sinclair has been murdered and they don't know who killed him. Continue talking to him and tell him that you will help them to find out the culprit's identity.
1. After you agree to help the Sinclair family solve their mystery, head over to the dreary mansion and into its East room. You will find a Smashed Window, Pungent Pot, and Criminal dagger. This is where the murder of Lord Sinclair took place.Take the Criminal's Dagger and Pungent Pot, then investigate the Smashed Window to get the Criminal's Thread.
2. There's nothing more for you to do in the Sinclair mansion now, so leave the place and go outside to investigate the gate where the Sinclair guard dog is, a message will show up saying that the fierce dog barks at you. After getting barked at, leave by the South gate and talk to the Gossip who will will tell you that a Poison Seller recently made a big sale to the Sinclair family.
3.Go back to Seers Village and talk to the Poison Seller (location: map) in the pub at the West. You need to ask him about his sale to the Sinclair Family, and he will say that he sold a bottle to each of the family members. Show him the Pungent Pot and he will smell it and recognize it to be his All-Purpose Poison.
4.After you trudge back to the mansion, talk to each of the people that bought the poison: Anna, Bob, Carol, David, Elizabeth and Frank. As you ask them about the poison, investigate each of the places they have told you they used the poison on:
Anna said The compost, which is west of the Mansion's entrance.
Bob says he used it on the Beehive. It is located at the west side of the grounds, where the cows are.
Carol cleaned the Drain outside the house, on the western part of the southern wall.
David says he used it to clear Spider's Nest upstairs, in the southern part.
Elizabeth says that she used it on Fountain in the eastern part of the garden.
Frank used it at the Family Crest on the southern wall of the house, which is east of the entrance.
If you investigate each of the places after you talk to the family members, there should be just one place that the poison isn't on. The person who lied is the culprit, but you need more evidence to prove they killed their father...
5. The great Barrel Hunt! Now you must search the barrel belonging to the liar. You need to do this as the Criminal Thread you find earlier belongs to their trousers Anna and Bob's rooms are downstairs and the rest of them are upstairs. You should find the item that belongs to that person in their barrel and you must use it to find their fingerprints.
6. Now you have to go outside again to the room at the north-western part of the mansion to get some flypaper for fingerprinting. Investigate the sack to get them, and you need to get two of them.
7. Go back inside to the Cook's room, which is located north-west in the Mansion. Take some flour from the barrel and pour it on the Criminal's dagger. Then use the dagger on a flypaper and you should get an Unknown print.
8. Take some more flour, and use it on the object you found earlier and use the result with flypaper. Compare the two fingerprints with each other, and you will find that they match exactly.
9. Talk to the guard and say that you have evidence to solve the crime, he'll ask you about everything and collect the evidence from you. He will say that the culprit will be in house arrest until the trial, and he thanks you for your much-needed help.
