Talk to King Narnode Shareen in the Gnome Stronghold, he'll tell you he send the 10th squad of his Royal Guard to decommission the shipyard from Glough, but they've disappeared. Then he'll ask you to start Monkey Madness.

Chapter 1

Go to the top of the tree and take the glider to Gandius (Karamja).

Note: Make sure you have the gnome royal seal with you.

Then head north to the Shipyard and enter it. Go to the house to the south and talk to G.L.O. Caranock, he'll inform you that he doesn't know anything about the 10th squad of the Royal Guard and suggests that they might have been blown away from their course.

Go back to the Gnome Glider and fly back to the Grand Tree (Ta Quir Priw). Go to the ground floor and talk to King Narnode Shareen, to inform him of the situation. He'll give you some orders, which you need to give to Daero the new High Tree Guardian.

Go upstairs and go to the bar to the southeast and talk to Daero. He'll tell you about your mission and then you can ask him some questions about the situation. Once you select leave Daero will take you to Waydar.

Note: If you wish to leave the underground hangar then go to the south and operate the teleportation device. It will bring you close to the gnomeball arena. You can get back by talking to Daero in the Grand Tree upstairs.

Talk to Daero, he'll tell you that you will have to wait until they have finished reinitialization. Go to the south and operate the Reinitialization Panel.

You'll have to complete a puzzle; you should start with the top row and continue by doing each row below that step by step. Also it's better to take each row by going left to right or right to left, so you don't mess up any part which you already completed. Make sure you do the bottom right part last because you need to have one spot open there. You can also see the image below to see how the finished puzzle should look like.

Tip: If you can't complete the puzzle on your own you can ask Glough in his house southeast of the Grand Tree to complete the puzzle for you. It will however cost you 200,000 gp.

Once the puzzle is completed talk to Daero. Now you should gear up, you should have enough food, prayer potions, antipoisons, energy potions, a way to teleport out fast, weapons, armor and the gnome royal seal. You can leave by operating the teleportation device and get back by talking to Daero upstairs in the Grand Tree.

In the hangar you can talk to Waydar to fly to Crash Island.

Warning: Look out for the small scorpions on Crash Island, they can poison you.

Once you're on Crash Island talk to Lumdo, he'll inform you that the rest of the 10th squad has left to explore the island to the west. Talk to Waydar twice and tell the second time that you cannot convince Lumdo to take you to the island. You'll see a cutscene and Lumdo will bring you to the island.

Chapter 2

Warning: Look out for spiders and snakes on Ape Atoll, they can poison you.

You're now on Ape Atoll, you'll have to walk to the northwest. Until you get shot by Ape Archers and put into prison.

Warning: Don't stand near the door when the gorilla is near, it will attack you.

When the Gorilla is not looking you should pick the lock and stand on the safe spot northwest of your jail. Then when he's leaving follow him and exit the jail. Hide to the north and walk to the east side of the jail. The high grass will give you cover.

Once you're at the east side of the jail put protect from range on, go to the southeast of the camp and search for Garkor. Once you're at Garkor turn protect from range off, talk to him and he'll tell you to go to Zooknock the mage to obtain a monkey disguise.

Put protect from range on and run to the west, to south side of the storage building and enter through the back.

Warning: Don't walk in the center of the storage building.

First search the chest near the trapdoor for monkey dentures, then search the chest to the southeast and go down.

In the cave search the crates to the northwest for a monkey amulet mould. Now it's time to resupply, It's best to teleport to Lumbridge or Al Kharid because you can take Gnome Glider from Al Kharid to the Grand Tree. Of course you could also go to Varrock and use the spirit tree at the Grand Exchange.

You should take these items with you, you could also do with a little less if you're high level:
-2 Antipoison
-4 Energy potions and you could also take the Explorer's ring
-2 Prayer potions
-Food
-Teleport method
-A gold bar, magical monkey dentures, m'amulet mould.

Go to Daero and let him take you to the hangar. Talk to Waydar to go back to Crash Island and talk to Lumdo to get back to Ape Atoll.

Now you'll have to enter a cave, I will first explain how you will have to go through it because you won't have time to read this when you're in the cave.

There will be multiple traps in the cave.

Spike traps In some parts where the cave is wide you'll see little dots on the ground. If you stand on them spikes will come up and hit you. You'll have to run past these traps to avoid them.

Claw traps When you see a stone with claws on the side you should use your plank on the stone to pass.

In the cave when the screen shakes you'll have to hide under a ledge, otherwise you'll be hit for a few hp. In the cave you should put protect from melee on. You should make sure to revive your health, prayer and energy when needed.

From Lumdo you should go to the west until you find a bamboo trap (it's not very far). Go down the stairs and follow the path through the cave to the north, until you reach Zooknock.

When you're at Zooknock talk to him. When you're finished talking to him give him the monkey dentures, m'amulet mould and gold bar. He'll give you an enchanted bar and the m'amulet mould. It's time to teleport out again.

Restock and recharge your prayer, go back the same way as the last time. You should go to the town, the same way as last time, by being captured. Escape the prison just like last time and go stand at the east side of the prison.

Tip: Make sure to read this whole part because you might not have time for it in the temple.

You'll be able to smelt the bar in the temple to the southeast. If you get trapped in the temple by the Monkey Guards (because you can't walk through them), then you should kill them or go up stairs if you're able to.

Enter the temple and turn protect from melee on, go to the east side of the temple and down the trapdoor.

Move to the north and use the bar on the Fire Walls. Go back up and return to the east side of the prison, which is a safe spot. Now use the ball of wool with the amulet to create an m'speak amulet, wear the m'speak amulet.

Go to northwest side of the village and enter the house, which you can enter from the north. Go to through the wall to the west and stand in the shadow.

Warning: When the aunt sees you she'll send monkey ninjas after you.

You should go and talk with the Monkey Child when the Monkey's Aunt is walking away. Talk to him and then talk to him again to tell him that you're his uncle. Then he'll tell you that he needs to collect 20 bananas to get a new toy. Collect 8 bananas and talk to Monkey Child, you'll tell him that it are 20 bananas and he'll accept them. Then talk to the Monkey Child again to get a monkey talisman.

Teleport out and resupply. You'll have to get supplies to go to mage Zooknock, you also need to take the talisman and the monkey remains (kill a monkey on Karamja with range or mage). Go back to Ape Atoll and into the cave where Zooknock is. Go through the cave like you did before. Give Zooknock the talisman and the remains. He'll give you the monkey greegree.

The monkey greegree allows you to turn into a monkey, but it is only effective on the island of Ape Atoll. You'll not be attacked by anything, you can't fight and you're free to walk where you want.

You can now teleport out and resupply, make sure to take an item with you, which you can use to teleport because you can't use magic as a monkey.

Chapter 3

Return to the island and enter Ape Atoll through the main gate. Go to Garkor and talk to him (to the southeast of the village). After talking to Garkor, talk to the Elder Guard, he'll tell you that you need permission from Kruk to talk to Awowogei.

Now go to the gate and go up the west cliff, go over the cliff by taking the bridge, there talk to Kruk.

He'll lead you to Awowogei, talk to Awowogei. He'll ask you to save one of the monkeys from the Ardougne zoo. Now teleport away and go to Ardougne. Take your monkey greegree and m'speak amulet with you and make sure to have one spot free.

In the zoo at the monkey cage turn into a monkey and talk to the monkey minder. You'll be put into the monkey cage, talk to a monkey and you'll put him in your backpack.

Warning: Don't teleport or log out with the monkey in your backpack you'll lose it.

Then turn back to human and talk to the monkey minder to get out.

Now you should walk to the Grand Tree and go to Ape Atoll the same way as always. Turn into a monkey and go talk with Awowogei (the Elder Guard will let you through).

Now talk with Garkor and you'll see a cutscene.

Chapter 4

Note: You will need 37 prayer to use this guide to defeat the demon.

Talk to Garkor again and he'll give you an 10th squad sigil, do not wear it until you're ready for battle. Teleport away from Ape Atoll and go to the bank to prepare your equipment.

If you lose your sigil, you can get one from Waymottin who is standing near Zooknock in the cave. You'll have to go through the whole cave again to get the sigil, make sure to turn into a monkey because then you'll not get attacked.

You'll have to range or mage the level 195 Demon, you can't really melee because he'll hit very high with melee. It's also possible to use a cannon. Below are the suggested items to kill the demon.

When the demon is dead talk to Garkor, then talk to Zooknock to teleport away. You might teleport near a monster, which will poison you. Go back to the Gnome Stronghold and talk to King Narnode Shareen to complete the quest.
