Between a Rock...


Start:
Dondakan the Dwarf in the Keldagrim Mines

Required:
Items:
50 gp, ammo mould, hammer, 4 gold bars and pickaxe
Quests:
Fishing Contest and Dwarf Cannon
Skills:
30 Defence, 40 Mining and 50 Smithing
Monster encounters:
Level 75-125 enemy Arzinian Avatar

Go to the cave north east of Rellekka, enter it and enter the next cave immediately and talk to the ferryman to cross the river. Move to the northwest corner of the cave.



Talk to Dondakan the Dwarf and ask why he's firing a cannon at a wall. Tell him that you'll help him out to start the quest.

Now head back to the ferry and cross the river. Talk to the boatman to go to Keldagrim. Go to the Library just west of the boatman on the other side of the river (northeast of the bank).



Talk to the Librarian, ask him what he knows about impenetrable rocks. He'll tell you that a dwarf in Wemund's Wrench Warehouse might know more about the rock.



Go to Wemund's Wrench Warehouse at the anvils sign on the map (south of library - east of the bank) and talk to the Dwarven Engineer. He'll tell you that Rolad a renowned scholar might know more about it.

Rolad can be found at the Dwarven Mines. Go to the Ice Mountain (Dwarven Mines - 150 gp) with the mining carts (or Falador teleport - Glory Amulet). Go out of the mines by taking the ladder up to the Ice Mountain.



Talk to Rolad in the House at the entrance of the Dwarven Mines. Rolad picked up a book in one of his travels. He tore out the pages he was interested in, but lost them in the mines.

You'll find the pages on the following spots:

Book page 1 can be found by killing a few Scorpions.
Book page 2 can be found by searching a mining cart.
Book page 3 can be found by mining a few rocks.

Return to Rolad to return the pages, you'll get the book. Read the book, then ride back to Keldagrim with the mining cart system. Go back to Dondakan, talk to him.

Now you should go to a furnace (Rellekka is close) and use your gold bar on the furnace while having an ammo mould in your inventory. Now return to Dondakan and use the gold Cannon Ball on him. The Cannon Ball will go right through the rock but will not damage it. You'll have to make a gold helmet to get through the rock yourself and you'll need schematics to modify the cannon.



Go to the city and make the gold helmet at the anvil (at Wemund's Wrench Warehouse).

The schematics can be obtained very easy. Talk to the Dwarven Engineer in at the Wemund's Wrench Warehouse, to get the first. Read the book again to get the second.



For the last schematic go to the White Wolf Mountain with the mining carts (100 gp). Walk into the pub and take a dwarven stout from the table give it to Khorvak, a dwarven engineer.

You should fix the schematics now. Assemble schematics; you should only show the schematic you're fixing and you should try to look at the human body.

Note: You need your pickaxe!

Return with the mining cart and go to the bank get some food (and maybe prayer pots). Go to Dondakan, talk to him. You'll see a cutscene where you get shot into the rock.



You'll be inside the rock there is a lot of gold inside mine about 6 rocks and then jump over the wall of flame and talk to the wall of flame in the center of the room. An Arzinian Avatar of Magic/Ranged/Melee will attack you, combat level and combat style depend on your combat skills.



After killing the creature, you'll get out of the rock. Talk to Dondakan, quest completed!

Rune pickaxe, 5000 Defence, 5000 Mining and 5000 Smithing exp
